Tweak for Desktop Icons

Terry

I'm new to Vista HP. I've used TweakUI for XP, but I understand that it will
not work or should not be used with Vista. Is there a registry tweak which
will remove the "arrow" from the desktop shortcut icons, as there is in
TweakUI for XP?

Thank you.

Use Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover. Google in Google to find it :)
Easy way!

Yeah that's the one I posted in the link earlier. Though it does the
job you have to keep it installed for the changes to stay. Once
uninstalled the changes go with it.

As usual Brink's way is better. Though it involves a few more steps
it's still easy.

My thanks to all for the quick information. It'll be tomorrow before I
have time to try the fix, but I appreciate the responses.

It seems that now the TweakVI can do the trick.

Please forgive me for butting in here.
I also have an icon problem, but of a different nature:
All my web shortcut icons are what it looks like pasted at half the normal
seize on a white square background.
How do I get them back to the original?

Thanks, Shawn, for taking the time.
I did what was suggested and as though the icons show in favorites/favicons
correctly, as soon as I put the shortcut on the desktop the icon shows white
framed..
I took an imprint of the difference in icons as a jpg file to clearly show
what's going on, I just don't know how to paste it to this message.
I don't think it is allowed to attach a file? Any suggestions?

Gun
