We are stuck with a TWAIN driver ( Fujitsu Limited TWAIN Driver Version
7.03.004) we have to use and it gives I/O error on scan command if the logged
on user is not in the local admin group. Power user also does not work.

Is there a way around to this so we do not have to allow full Admin rights
to user and the scannar works?

Try setting up failure auditing on the local machine hive. Run regedt32.exe
then browse to HKLM, then
Edit|Permissions|Advanced|Auditing|Add|"everyone"|OK then check the "Failed"
box on Full Control, Set Value, Create Subkey, Enumerate Subkey, Delete,
Create Link

Then try again logged on as a normal user. Then check the Event log security
for errors.

|I will try it Monday and post the outcome. Thanks Dave!

Unfortunately Group to Local Security Policy is on the way to implement this.
Effective Setting = Failure in Local Security Settings\Local Policies\Audit
System Events.
I think thats why I don't even get an option to choose "Failure" auditing.
I am still in the dark then.
FYI:
I cannot take that computer object out and create a different OU in this
organization. Not even for testing.

Hopefully your systems admin can help with this then.
