TWAIN compatibility

I have a TWAIN compatible driver for my scanner. The
trouble is when I try to install my scanner on Windows XP
it does not work. My scanner worked fine on Windows ME
and Windows 98. I am wondering if this has something to
do with those digital signatures that XP fools around
with. And I have searched for an XP version of my driver
but came up with nothing, please help.

See if you cannot locate a Windows 2000 version of your device driver and
install it.

Better still, go to the manufacturer's web site and see if they have a
driver specifically written to work in WinXP. Twain drivers are very
fussy about the OS.

See if there is a Win2000 one. If not you are probably SOL. The
parallel port scanners in particular almost all used driver techniques
designed for 16 bit windows and which are anathema to XP - and the
makers see these devices as obsolete and are not going to write XP ones.
