TV on PC?

I'm petty sure I'm in the wrong place but please pardon me; I'm lost. I'm
trying to find info on a program or service called "PCShowBuzz Pro". I was
watching the news on TV while working on my computer this evening. A segment
made reference to the stations webpage and I decided to pull it up. Though I
didn't find what I was looking for (they sure jammed everything on that page
but the kitchen sink) I did find an ad that really struck my curiosity. It
spoke of receiving TV programs on my monitor. I recently was searching for a
way to view an upcoming program on CBC (Canada) but haven't had any luck.
So, when I say this ad, it caught my eye immediately.

I Googled the phrase but I'm finding no clear definition nor explanation. I
don't know if this is a game or a dangerous piece of software. I wouldn't
think a national affiliate (CBS) would allow something harmful on their
homepage but... I just don't know what to make of this. Hope I haven't
inadvertently put something on my machine that shouldn't be there. Nothing
was downloaded to my knowledge and I didn't click the link that would lead
to more info on the product/service.

Does anyone know what this item is and where I should go for detailed info
if it's legit? If it isn't, is there such software that will allow me to get
Canadian PBS/news channels in Ohio via the net?

Its easy to "view tv programs" on youre computer.All one needs is a tv video
card,tv edit card,or a display adapter like ati all in wonder,they have
either
rca jacks or s-video in connections on the card.Get the card,download WM
encoder 9 series,view on the encoder,or view in WMCAP utility,also from WM
home page...All you must install are the drivers for the card...

Yeah, that's what I thought, too.

But I think the OP is looking for online (streaming ?) TV from CBC.

Being in Australia, I wouldn't know, but perhaps some services are provided.
I couldn't find any for our ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) but we
do have some line radio programs, so why not TV as well? (Part of the "why
not" may be the resources required, of course)

There are 1000's of streamed online channels available,
including 27 from Canada, check this excellent site:

The quality can range from mediocre to excellent.
An efficient hi-speed connection is required
Some channels are only compatible with specific
media players -
Example: If a stream is only compatible with Realplayer
to the right you can download a free version of any desired
media player etc.
To the left select desired country and the available
channels will be displayed. You just click on your required
channel and it will open mediaplayer and stream!
It is easy to navigate and highly addictive!

I just checked, and to receive the numerous CBC Canada streams
you will indeed require Realplayer - it is available for free download
from the streaming site.

Thanks to all for the info. I'll look into the card. The mediahopper site is
a great reference, though it didn't have the 8PM program I'm after. I'm sure
it'll come in handy in the future. Thanks again.
