TV Connecion times out

Pacemaker

I have an ATI Radeon X1300 series video controller that works fine as an
interface to my Toshiba DLP TV. I use the system as both a DVR and a general
computer. The problem that I'm having is that some piece of the system goes
to sleep and won't come back again without a system reboot. This only happens
when I go back to regular TV for an extended time.
What I've done:
- I've ensured that the computer is still responding thru keyboard and mouse
commands -> it does but can't see them.
- I've set the computer and display to not allow sleeping.
- I've reloaded the display driver, though it's not a Toshiba driver.

Thoughts?

If you are using a DVI/HDMI interface to the TV the graphics card will
probably drop communication with the TV when the TV is no longer using that
interface and therefore stops responding to the PCs output. Possibly you can
determine a set of keyboard commands that will force your PC to try to
resysnc with the TV.
