Turning on support for javascript

How can I turn support on for javascript in FrontPage. When I go to Tools,
Page Options, Authoring, the JavaScript check box is grayed out and I cannot
select it.

JavaScript in the browser, is controlled by the browser, not FP. The setting in FP control the
scripting language that will be used by FP to write scripts, not if the script will be supported by
browsers.

I am supporting a web site that has javascript code in it that creates drop
down menus. When I try to test the web site in FrontPage the drop down menus
don’t appear. Even if I open the html file outside of FrontPage the web page
comes up without the drop down menus. When I upload the files to the
production server the drop down menus appear. So I can’t test what I am doing
before uploading it to the production server. I would like to be able to test
it on my PC

A link to a page with the menus will help diagnose the problem.
JavaScript may be blocked on your PC when viewed from a file-system
location in IE. Try using Preview in Browser with a different browser,
such as FireFox - this is a good idea anyway.

That might be because if you're Previewing in Browser, you're viweing the
site from your local disk and the browser may block the javascript as
"malicious" - it's a security feature of the browser. Once you publish the
page correctly and view it normally with an http: link then it should work.

I downloaded Firefox and brought up the web page and the javascript drop down
menus appear now
