Turning off "Your computer may be at risk"

Is there a way of turning off the baloon message "Warning - Your computer
may be at risk". I knowingly have auto updates turned off. If I turn on
notify but don't download a message telling me new updates are available
(those I chose not to install). This annoying Microsoft message comes up
every time I boot the computer and I have to close it. Any wonder people
cuss MS?

And until they did this people cussed them for not doing something. They
just can't win. I guess those people back then didn't know what they were
doing and never read any warnings to make sensible choices, but I can see
you're not like that.

Anyway, if you open the security centre (control panel -> security center),
they have very cunningly hidden the settings for how you're alerted to
security 'situations' under the very poorly named and obscure "Change the
way Security Center Alerts Me".

Thanks, Robert. You make a valid point, but it should be more obvious how to
disable nag messages.
