Is there any way to turn this option off? Now everytime I leave outlook - the
program is wanting to synchronize with offline folders. I don't use offline
folders and therefore do not need anything in sync.

Click Tools (on the menu bar), Services. Highlight Exchange Server and click
properties. Click on the Advanced Tab and then uncheck "Enable Offline Use"
in the bottom of the window.

That's for Outlook 97/98/2000. For OL 2002/2003, click Tools>E-mail
Accounts>Next. Select the Exchange account, click Change>More Settings,
then the Advanced tab. Click Offline Folder File Settings, then Disable
Offline Use.

I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange server. When I navigate to Offline
Folder File Settings the "Disable Offline Use" and the "Browse" buttons are
present but not clickable. I need to change the directory that the .ost file
is stored in. How can I make these options available?

After relentless tinkering I figured it out...I had to uncheck "use Cached
Exchange Mode" (which made the "Disable Offline File Use" button available),
then click the Disable Offline File Use button (which made the .ost path
available).

Thanks!
