turning off autocomplete?

I've been working all day trying to figure out how to
disable autocomplete. I've deselected the three options
in internet options>tools>content>autocomplete and cleard
the forms and passwords. ALso, deleted files and cookies
and cleared history. Also installed Spybot and used the
usage tracking features to stop the problem. Chatted
with MSN tech support for about 3 hours, then phoned MSN
and was told to update my 6.0, despite my having the
latest version. And I STILL get these darn drop-down
boxes with previous entry option when I go to fill in
form boxes and search in Google. And there is no
reference to this problem on MIcrosoft website that I can
find despite many others posting similar frustrations.
Am I missing something here? Anyone have any other
ideas???

Scroll down to Privacy Issues.

After some more exploring, I have found that the
autocomplete feature is in fact disabled, but only when I
have started Internet Explorer. I had not been using IE,
instead using MSN 8 without starting IE, which still has
AutoComplete enabled somehow. I've found various
approaches to disabling AutoComplete, but they all seem
to involve editing files which is beyond my limited, or I
should say at this point, diminished, capacity
Hope to resolve this soon in any case...

Hello... No I'm not using the Google toolbar, BUT I had
installed it at one point then removed it.

Also, I just tried something on a hunch: went to Google
and started an entry which produced the drop-down "fill-
in list" and tried deleting the highlighted choices... it
worked! So AutoComplete is much less of an issue now.
But I still hope to find the answer to disabling it
altogether within MSN.
