Turn sound/photo preview on in File Explorer?

Someone told me they used to have a sound/photo/media preview pane in their
File Explorer window. They've lost it (possibly due to installing an update
and can't find the command again.) I'd never seen it, but thought it
sounded nice, so I went Googling for it. I found a few things about running
some command lines, but they didn't turn anything new on. I also found how
to set media32 to preview audio files from a right-click, but that's not
quite what I was looking for. Does it really exist? Can I turn it on? Can
anyone set me straight on this? (using XP Pro, 5.1.2600, SP2)

Right-click the folder, click Properties, Customize tab, change the
filetypes to the preferred type and you might see those options. I hope
that's what you're referring to..
