Is there a way to have my computer turn itself on at a set time every
weekday? It would be nice not to have to wait for the boot up. I don't want
it to logon by itself, just power up. Thanks.

This is not a Windows function (because when the PC
is turned off then Windows is not active!). Some PCs
have a BIOS wake-up function. Check the manual that
came with your PC or motherboard for details.

I haven't heard of this on a PC. But I know you can do this with a
MAC. Another possibility is to just leave the PC on all the time, and
enable sleep mode.

Yep, it's been available on Dell computers for quite a few years.

Check my very first reply in this thread. Since each BIOS
has its own way of doing things, it is not possible to give
you a general recipe.

Sure... just set it in the BIOS to wake on LAN, and then contract to
have a friend call your home number at the same time every day.

Moron.

What was the one before your "very first reply"? Or was that the VERY
first reply and it was followed by an ONLY first reply and then by a
JUST first reply?

Enquiring minds want to know....

Some PCs have the function in the BIOS to wake at a certain time and day.

If waiting for your PC to boot is so "not nice" I would suggest either
getting it checked or changing your routine. All one needs do is turn on the
PC first thing, then by the time they put there stuff down/make
coffee/scratch themselves/hang up coat or do the myriad of other small tasks
people do before they actually use their PC, you won't miss the time.

Just give an example.
