Turn on automatic spelling and grammar checking

hi i am haveing a truble with Word 2007 spelling and grammar checking..
i just changed my word from word 2003, and at some reason i can't see the
red line any more. since that i am international students, i really need that
checking system, so can any one teach me what should i have to do???
