turn off sound when visiting web site

How does one turn off sound that seem to occur whenever I
open the IE browser and go to any web site.The sound one
hears is almost like water drops and a couple of two three
repitations.

Configure the sounds the way you want. Select which ones you want to
use and select none for those for which you want no sound event. Now
think. Where might sounds be configured in Windows? Think. Think
again. Okay, a hint: an applet in Control Panel. If you don't the
event to which the sound is associated, just play the sounds associated
with each event to see which one sounds like the one that you hear.
