turn off Picture and Fax Viewer

I would like to know how I can stop Picture and Fax Viewer from being the
default preview program for picture files. I have been in the file
association settings and there is nothing there to do this. I would like
another program to open the files when I double click on them.

Click Start | Run | and type "regsvr32 /u shimgvw"
