Peter

I would like to disable the "formatting suggestions" feature in Word
2003, especially the blue-squiggle underlining that automatically
defaces all of my documents :-)

Help?

Thanks.

There are two boxes on the Edit tab of Tools | Options that cover this. You
can clear just "Mark formatting inconsistencies." Or, if you clear "Keep
track of formatting," the other box is disabled.

Peter, try Tools-Options-Spelling & Grammar and uncheck all the boxes.
