Turn off Compacting

Is there any way to turn off the message compacting feature. Each time I
cloase Outlook express a box pops up asking if I want do compact my
messages. I want to turn this off.

Compacting is part of the message database maintenance process. It
removes the "blank space" left by deleted messages.

OE doesn't remove deleted messages, it only flags them to be removed at
a later time. The items are not removed until the folders with deleted
items are compacted. You need to compact all your OE folders regularly.
This saves disk space and speeds up OE.

Let it run and don't do anything until it's done.

Or you'll be back here asking why OE won't start because your folders.dbx is
corrupted.
