Turn off Annoying Windows Update Notification

First off, I am not trying to find how to turn off automatic updates,
I know how to do that. I currently have it turned off, and I want it
off for a reason but Windows always bugs me with a security center
popup saying "WINDOWS AUTOMATIC UPDATES ARE TURNED OFF, CLICK HERE TO
TURN THEM ON!". Not only does it say that all the time, but it leaves
an icon in my taskbar which is really annoying. Is there a way to turn
off this annoying XP popup?
I already checked in gpedit.msc and sysdm.cpl and there was nothing I
found. (Maybe I overlooked something?) But anyways, maybe a registry
edit or something to keep this icon and message from popping up.

Hi

Control Panel>Security Center - in the left hand pane click on 'Change the
way Security Center alerts me'.

To turn off the notification icon in your taskbar...
1. Go to Control Panels
2. Open Security Center
3. There is a list on the left under the title "Resources",
Click on the bottom one "Change the way Security Center alerts me"
4. Uncheck "Automatic Updates"

That should do it. - William
