Tun off monitor problem

J

Jeremy

Under power management I have the "Turn off monitor" option enabled if
my computer is idle for 20 minutes. And all I needed to do to turn on
the monitor again was just to move the mouse.

However, something has gone wrong since a week ago and I'm no longer
able to turn on the monitor by moving the mouse. Instead, I have to
restart windows by pressing the reset button.

What could have caused this problem?

TIA

Does pressing a key on the keyboard wake up the machine? In the Device
Manager open the Properties for the mouse and go to the "Power
Management" tab. Uncheck "Allow the computer..." here.

go to control panel
click on the mouse icon
click "Hardware" tab
click on "Properties"
click on "Power Management"
make sure "Allow this divice to bring the computer out of
standby" is checked
