I am going nuts. I have a HP, of coarse just a few weeks past 1 yr warranty. I have had problems with blue Window error messages and other problems for months now.
My issue is: I am booting from CD using HP's Recovery CD they had to send me. I get to the point where I chose "R", then I see the following at the bottom. "Examining 76317 MB Disk 0 at ID 0 on bus ) on atapi......"
Then goes to the normal wording of "The recovery console provides...... type exit to quit...
THEN TO THIS FINAL FATAL ISSUE!!! "The path or file specifed is not valid".
It is supposed to show C:/windows.... it doesn't, I type it in windows and no luck. I am not very good with DOS issues, please advise. Is it a hard drive problem? Windows XP problem? I have no idea what to do, what I need to buy etc.

Seems like HP should be providing any and all help.

TRY TYPING THE NUMBER OF THE DRIVE YOUR TRYING TO REPAIR, INSTEAD OF THE PATH.
