Earl

I'm trying to upgrade from windows 98 to XP home. I get
a blue stop screen upon restarting. Windows will not
start up. Message contains "stop: 0x0000007b(0xf7c7d63c,
0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" Says to check for
viruses. These are brand new drives - WD 80 gigs set in a
RAID 0 configuration. I checked under 98 with NIS -
clean no viruses. I have 1024mb RAM. Motherboard is a
gigabyte GA-8IEXP. I flashed to BIOS to the most current
version.

Thanks in advance

Hi Earl,

0x7b is misconfigured hardware. Check jumper settings and bios detection
settings. Also make sure a supporting set of raid drivers are installed and
that any bios-level antivirus detection schemes are disabled.
