trying to send 80 people e-mail-553 relay denied error

I am trying to send an e-mail to 80 people in a distribution list. I keep
getting error 553 relay denied. Help.

Ask your e-mail provider what is their max-recipients-per-message
quota. That is, ask them how many recipients you can list in one
message. Could be less than 80, like 50 or maybe only 25.

Make sure you are authenticating to the SMTP server to which you
connect. Could be your e-mail provider requires separate
authentication for their SMTP than the credentials sent to their POP3
server (even if they are the same login credentials). Could be they
refuse to let anyone outside of their network connect to their SMTP
server to prevent abuse by spammer, or folks trying to send out bulk
mailings, like you, when using a *personal* e-mail account.
