trying to run a cd

Hi im trying to instal a cd for my child so he can make cards. i put the cd
in the computer and it comes up saying:

16 bit windows subsytem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

Though the cd says its compatiable with windows xp...

Ive tried to instal it through the run option in the star menu but it keeps
saying the same thing.... can anybody help me???
