trying to restore deleted files, Restorer2000 hangs

I'm trying to use Restorer2000 (from http://www.bitmart.net/) to scan
for deleted files, but it hangs when trying to scan the drive. All the
support people can tell me is that it doesn't usually hang!
Has anyone seen problems like this with this product? OR can recommend
an alternative?

highly recommend FileRestore from http://www.winternals.com/

My experiences with Restorer2000 have been very unpleasant - recommend
staying away from it
