Trying to re-install windows xp

Trying to re-install windows xp and I get this message,
An error occured copying file augs6r3g.sys to c:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\augs6r3g.sys.
Reinstalling using the cd and choosing upgrade for install

Please do not start a second post on an existing topic.
And you're still not telling us what you're doing when
trying to re-install WinXP. Are you running the CD from
within Windows, or are you booting off the CD?
Remember - we can't see what you're doing!

The module referenced doesn't seem to be a standard part of an XP
i386 source. Is this CD an OEM disk for a specific brand PC ? Have
you checked the surface of the disk for smudges and scuff marks ?
 
Just wanna say thank you to Pegasus(MVP) & R. McCarty for taking time to
answer my post. I will just reformat and start new. Thanks again
