Trying to password protect a database

Argh! Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, has once again left out
"something" in their Help files. I am trying to password protect a database
(I'm the only person who actually uses it, but I know my employer gets into
databases and adds "her own" information (this database is used for tax
purposes, and I'm the bookkeeper, hence my being the only one to use it).
The problem is, in the help folder, it is telling me to close the database,
click on Open, and click on the arrow to the right of Open. There IS NO
arrow to the right of Open! If I click on Open, it just opens the database.
I realize that password protecting databases could cause a bit of a problem,
but I have a backup database, and if she wants to make changes in that, that
is okay. I just need for the one I use to not have any extraneous info in
it. Dept. of Rev. frowns on "junk".

Have you tried to open Microsoft Access. Then select file > open highligh
the file you want to password protect. You should see an arrow next to the
open button select "Open Exclusive"

After opening the file you will select tools > security > Set Database
Password...

After setting the password you should be good to go.
