Trying to open new messenger account....

I have given my old computer to my husband and I wish him to have his own
Messenger account. Although I did delete the program and re-installed, it
only recognizes my name and gives me no opportunity to change it.
Can you kindly tell me just how I can do this?
Thanks - am on XP Pro and the Messenger is verison 8.

Greetings Terri,

Just start Messenger and if it signs you in, right-click the icon in the notification area
(by the clock) and choose Sign out.

Now, double-click the icon and choose the 'Forget me' link.

If you haven't done so already, he can register a Windows Live ID @
http://register.passport.net or just click the sign up link in the Messenger window.

When he has an account, just enter it into the boxes, choose the 'Save' settings and finally
Sign in to save them. Now you should be all set.
