Trying to open attatchments

Hello, I am trying to open an attatchment and it keeps telling me that I need to find an associate folder in Controle Panel fo the attatchement. It is a microsoft office word attatchement and I do not know where to look and what to do. i need help step by step please. I don not know much about compuers. Thanks in advance for any ideas or assitance. Diana

Is MS WORD installed on your PC? If not, then you may not be able to view
..doc files, which are the type it usually generates. Buy the program, or
ask the sender to resend as plain text, if possible.

Or, there is a free WORD viewer available from MicroSoft...
