I have an Access 1.1 database that I need to open, but Access 2003 doesn't
recognise it and I haven't been able to get hold of Access 1.1 or 2.0, does
anybody know where I can get old versions of Access? I don't mind paying for
them.

There are used software websites out there; you have to be careful
about getting a legal copy, though I doubt that Microsoft is going to
be all THAT concerned about Access 2.0.

I still have 2.0 installed - if the data isn't confidential, you could
Zip the database and email it to me at jvinson <at> wysardofinfo <dot>
com. I'd be willing to convert it and send it back. It'll be converted
"as is" - no guarantees that forms and reports will work!

Hi John!
Unfortunately, it is a bit confidential...=( AND it's 48 mb in zip, which
doesn't help... I've been trying to find it used, but haven't been able to
yet, do you have any suggestions (as legal as possible...)?

Five listings on www.ebay.com searching for "microsoft access 2.0" -
four relevant. Expect to pay ca. $40-50.

Ha! It seems to have begun to go back up in price. Do you suppose that means
there are software collectors bidding up the price? I remember a couple of
years back, there was a similar newsgroup conversation and someone bought
Access 2.0 from eBay for US$15.

I've still got my copy of Access 2.0, but to load it on my notebook machine,
would have to copy it from diskette to flash memory or CD Recordable on the
oldest computer I've got in the house -- the only working machine with a
diskette reader.
