trying to install outlook 2002

I just got a new computer with office 2003 on it. It is a work computer like
my last one and I am trying to install outlook 2002 so I can sync my Samsung
Blackjack to my computer. For some reason, the cd installs outlook 2002, but
I get no icon in the start menu or on the desktop. The only way I can see
that outlook has been installed at all is if I go to the add/remove programs
menu.

The install CD seems to indicate that outlook is "not available" even before
it installs, but then says it is installed. If it helps I had groupwise on
the computer, but removed it because I heard there were issues between that
and outlook.

Thanks in advance.

pm,

Office 2003 contains Outlook 2003. Why are you trying to install an older
version? Only one version of Outlook is allowed on one computer.

Charles,

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, my company did not install Outlook as
part of the office package. My guess is because Novell's Groupwise is
installed. I was able to delete GW on my old computer and add Outlook,
but for some reason this is not working with my new computer.

And if you search for outlook.exe, or look in the Programs/Microsoft
Office/Office11 (and Office10) folders?

Tried that too, that was the 1st place I looked. Something about the CD that
comes from Cingular...However, I did solve the problem by installing outlook
from an earlier Office disk that I got here at work and that seemed to do the
trick. This time, it installed normally and left the icon on my desktop as
well as the outlook files within the office program files folders. Was able
to sync up my Blackjack with Outlook, so all is well!

Thanks again for your help and responses!
