Trying to identify a Seagate drive

L

I have a device on my machine and I'm having trouble trying to
determine exactly what it is.

It is a Seagate, with a model # STT38000A, serial # DN1C9C2 and a date,
9910

It is similar in size to a floppy drive but the flap that opens at the
front would allow something about 1/2" thick to go in about 1 3/4"
deep.

Looking at it from the top, it has 2 brass pulley wheels, with a flat
belt drive.

When I enter the model number in the Seagate search engine, it says,
"No such device", or words to that effect.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what this device is
intended for.

Thanks.

A search engine gave this as the first link returned.
