Reduce the number of files copied till the bad file is discovered.

its not about bad files all the files are healthy and can be copied but windows xp refuses to copy them unless u copy each one alone

Ok, you can successfully copy each file individually, but if you select
all the files from the search window and try to drag and drop you
receive an error and the copying stops. What exactly does the error
message say?

the error says (cannot copy file: cannot read from the source or file disc)
i tried on many cds and still the same

Humm, if you don't use search, but use Explorer to select a bunch of
files to drag and drop, does that work? Wondering if it is a hardware
issue VS. the multiple locations provided from search.

yes it does work using the explorer

Ok, let's try another method. Create a new directory on C:\ and then
copy the entire CD to it. After that, do a Search in that directory for
the files that you wanted to copy, instead of the CD. See if the copy
from Search process works from there instead of directly from the CD.
