Trying to bring Outlook archives into Vista Mail

J

Jackie Pugh

I read through many of the previous threads on this topic. I downloaded a
trial version of Outlook to my new Vista machine. I then loaded by copy of
the old *.pst file into that version of Outlook. I am able to export folder
by folder emails from *.pst format to *.csv format. But now I cannot seem to
import them into Vista Mail. Every time I try to import, it takes me through
a wizard that wants an email account profile and won't allow me to import
individual emails. But I did not set up the Outlook as an email account
because I wanted my Vista Mail to be functional. Any ideas would be helpful.

I gave up on this process and just emailed myself all my old Outlook email
off my old PC so that I would have it in Vista mail... you can highlight an
entire folder and send it in an email as attachments. Then in Windows
mail, if there is an email you need you can open just that attachment, mail
it again to yourself and you will have it in your windows mail. I know
this sounds inane, but even with the conversion cable I could not get
Outlook mail to work in Windows Mail...

From inside Windows Mail, did you try, File, Import, Messages,
Microsoft Outlook?
