Scenario- Two seperate domains, one NT4.0 and one 2000 AD native

Users in the 2000 domain need to access an internal Webserver on the NT4.0 Domain, they are asked for a user name and password etc
If I create a one way trust in which the NT4.0 domain trusts the 2000 domain will this cause authentication to occur in the 2000 domain therefore giving access to the NT4.0 webserver site?
