Eran

Hi,
I try to establish a trust from a win2000 domain to an NT4
domain.
The NT4 domain works fine and can browse the 2000 domain ,
but the 2000 domain get an error access denied for the SC
query.
The user that the 2000 domain try to access the NT4 domain
is a domain admin.

any suggestions?

Eran,

I always suggest using the NETDOM utility when creating trusts between WINNT
4.0 and WIN2000. You have to install the Support Tools in order to be able
to make use of NETDOM. You can find the Support Tools either on the WIN2000
Server CD or on the WIN2000 Service Pack CD in the Support | Tools -OR- you
can download them from the MS site at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads. I
would opt for either the Service Pack CD or the download.

Sometimes when you create a 'down-level' trust using the ADDT MMC you will
have problems. If you use NETDOM you should not have those problems. This
naturally assumes that everything else is correctly in place.

HTH,

Cary

Hi,
When I use the NETDOM I Get:
The attempt to contact the NetLogon service on domain
controller \\xx
for a secure channel reset of trusting domain
yy failed with the following error:
Access is denied.
