Trust relationship failed

I'm in the process of removing workstations from one W2K3 domain and adding
them to a new W2K3 domain. There is an existing trust relationship between
them.

After adding a workstation to the new domain, the workstation can no longer
log into the old domain. I get the following message at logon:

"The trust relationship between the primary domain and the trusted domain
failed."

Is this by design? Where do I start looking in the event log? How can I
determine the status of a trust relationship?

Is the original comouter account deleted in originating domain ?
