troubleshooting find feature in Word 2000

Word doesn't find words in a document. I can clearly see the words in the
document.
 
Give us a bit more to go on!

A possible reason is that you have formatting included in your search
criteria. Is any text displayed below the Find What box?

Another possible reason is that you have "Use wildcards" checked and one of
the characters you are looking for has a special meaning.
