Missing as in "appear as a red x when you play the show on another computer"?
or something else?

If they're linked graphics, see this:

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or email
a presentation

If the graphics are disappearing in PPT2003, choose Help, Check for Updates and
apply any recommended Office fixes/service packs.

thank you for the advice. i installed all office updates from the website and
the problem still persists. the graphics don't show up in ppt 2003. they
appear in ppt 2002, however. any other things i can try? thanks.

Did you try the other suggestions I made before? Repeated here:

i tried your suggestions. unfortunately, they did not fix the problem. there
is no "red x" when the ppt is played on another computer. the slide is just
blank. and these are maps, not sounds or movies, which are not addressed in
the help topic you gave me. although the tips are not useful for this issue,
the tips are good ones and i did learn from them. so thank you for replying.
the situation seems to be some kind of incompatibility between versions of
ppt. nan

Have all available updates been applied to the computer where the maps are not
appearing? It wouldn't be enough just to install them on your PC.

Since you may have no way of controlling someone else's PC, I'd also suggest that
you ungroup then immediately regroup all of these graphics on your own PC, save the
presentation as a new file, then try that on the other PC.
