Pack & Go replacement files not visible on PowerPoint 2000

I made a set of PowerPoints with movie clips included. I completed the Pack
and Go, then needed to make some adjustments. PowerPoints says it is
"replacing" the older versions, but this is not happening. The folder I save
them to is empty, Properties confirms 0k file size, but error message says
the older file is being overwritten. I searched for the pngsetup.exe file and
nothiing. I've been using the PPT's on a Safari DMG TV system, but I don't
think that's the issue because it just uploads the files I point it to.
Thoughts?

Have you tried saving to another folder name?

Yes, I saved the file under a new name so I could track it, and created a new
folder with a different name as well. Same outcome: Pack and Go says it's
replacing exisiting files but none are visible or searchable....
