hey pandrous05,
well it seems a lot of things are messed up but we may be able to fix it all
step by step. If you want a real quick solution just reinstall windows xp.
That will fix it all. But then you will need to reinstall all the windows
patches/updates again. You may even have to reinstall programs. But it will
still be faster than diagnosing and resolving the problem. If you do not want
to do this then read on. Let's first do the basic thing that you wanted ..
turn off the guest account.
For this follow these steps:
1>Open control panel and double click on user accounts.
2>In the list of users listed at the bottom of this window first click on
the guest account. You should have an option now that says turn off the guest
account. Just click on that and that should be disabled.

Before we move forward i would want to know what all user accounts are
listed when the computer starts up and what happens when you click on one of
them. You can also try doing one more thing to get the complete list of
accounts on your computer:
start->run and then type in control userpasswords2 and press enter.

Have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful year ahead

OK. So lets move forward now. Restart your computer in safe mode and login
using your administrator account. Now try doing the things i mentioned.

Tell me if this helps
