trouble with the scanner

I have Umax Astra 1220S and use it with windows XP. Some
time ago the scanner doesn't work. The system can't
detect it. There was a message in the service controle
manager:the service UDNT has stopped because the system
cannot detect the device.(perhabs this one). I tried to
reinstall Umax, with update for XP,but didn't help. What
can I do?

I have a similar model of Umax, my scanner stopped working
aswell, it turned out to be the power supply pack, plugged
into the scanner it looked a bit damaged-but it was hard
to tell. Check to see if you can get another power supply-
be careful to get the exact same type as scanners can do
all kinds of weird things if the power pack is wrong. This
is of course if its a model with a power pack good luck

you should obtain an updated from the manufacture's
website....or go to device manager and right click the
scanner and click " UPDATE DRIVER' but make sure you are
concected to the internet
