Trouble With Office 2000 Premium On XP Pro

I am having trouble running Outlook in Office 2000 Premium on XP Pro.
It installs and runs fine for the first time, until I reboot the
machine. Then everything goes sluggish and the system eventually
crashes. The only fix is to either remove Outlook or restore the
system to a state before that point. As far as I know, the automatic
update is turned on and it has SP2.

Any thoughts?

Thank you in advance ...

Office components require updates just like Windows. Best to visit
the Office home site and use the equivalent to Microsoft update to
scan and update your Office instance to the latest version.
http://office.microsoft.com
**Auto Update link near Top-Right corner of web page shown as
"Check for Updates" - Requires installation of an ActiveX to run.

You might want to post to an office newsgroup. Here is a list of MS public
