Trouble upgrading firmware on a 3ware card in Windows XP

Hello

I'm having no luck trying to upgrade the fireware on my
3ware RAID card. This card needs to be upgraded in DOS.
But after reading posts on this NG - i see that in short
you can't!

So is there a work around?

BTW - i've been in contact with 3ware and they suggest
using a program from the www.bootdisk.com website. But
that is as far as there help goes - pretty poor IMO.
I've tried to use one of the DOS 6.22.exe files from
bootdisk, but they don't install onto a floppy.

My floppy drive, disks and cable are all brand new.
When i try to run the .exe file
(http://files.frashii.com/~bootdisk/622-514.exe) I get I/O
errors on the head and disk!

I don't understand. As i said - all my hardware is new.

Could anyone shed any light on this problem.

98 boot disk will do what you want.
