Trouble Uninstalling Program

I installed Office XP on my Vista platform and then discovered different
incompatability issues with it. Now I am trying to unistall it but the Media
components are not uninstalling. I get an uninstall box saying that they are
configuring but that box can stay for as long as 2 hours with nothing
happening.

My other computer - an XP platform - gave the Media components right up and
that's why I'm convinced that this is a Vista problem.

How do I get this uninstalled? I need to load in Office 2007 and having
that installed with the Office XP media components gives me error messages
that read "office application version does not match."

How are you going about the uninstall process? The preferred method would
be to use Add/Remove Programs. Office XP should run perfectly on Vista.
You would, of course, need to make sure you have all the updates for Office
XP installed. I run Office 97 Pro SR2 on my Vista Premium machine and it
works perfectly.

See this link for information about uninstalling and repairing an install of
Office XP: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/orkXP/HA011362521033.aspx

You may need to repair your current Office XP installation in order to
remove it properly.
