Trouble setting up VPN Connection

I'm having trouble making a VPN connection to my office. I have a 2k SP4
server with 1 NIC setup as a VPN server, I think it is setup right. It's
connected to the internet from a SpeedStream 5100 DSL router that plugs into
a Linksys BEFSR41 router via a PPPoE connection then into my network
switches. At home I've got a Motorola SB5120 cable modem then plugged into a
Microsoft MN-500 wireless router/switch via a dynamic connection.

I can connect to a Remote Desktop session to the server fine. I'm using
no-IP DUC to make a hostname available to me. When I try to make a VPN
connection I get an error stating it could not establish a secure tunnel. Do
I have something setup wrong?? Do I need a seperate NIC in the server to
support the VPN?? When I was setting it up on the server it would not let me
choose the NIC beacuse it was the last available network connection and it
said a VPN server requires at least one connection be used as the private
network connection.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Most VPN protocols cannot tunnel through an PPPoE connection. Check which
protocol you have configured and look it up to see if it can be sent over a
PPPoE connection. I can't remember this off hand... but look at IPSEC and
L2TP as possibilities.
