Trouble ridding myself of worm.

I have a worm on my machine. So far I have been able to
locate and destroy the msblast.exe file in my system32
dir. However when I try to remove registry entries for
the worm (as advised by numerous posts and websites)
regedit closes down on me before I can make any progress.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Do I have a new
variant of the virus.

don't you have any anti-virus software?
since you already have one (virus), better to get one of anti-virus software.
(at least you can check by online virus scan service - it is free)
AVG offer free virsion, also CA offer one year free too.

also just for removal, you can use removal tool from Symantec.
