Trouble "rerouting connectors"

I am working on a flow chart for work, and the connectors
continue to be intertwined whenever I add a cell to the
chart. I followed the help directions about rerouting
connectors by clicking on a cell, then clicking "Draw,"
then "Reroute connectors," but the "Reroute connectors"
button is never available. I.e. it is gray and I can
never highlight it. I've tried selecting several
different cells, but nothing seems to work. Any advice?
 
Did you mean to post this in the Visio newsgroup? This is the PowerPoint
NG.

Anyway, the Help in Visio says to select the *connector* and then the
reroute commands will be available. It sounds like you are not selecting
the connector.
