Trouble re-installing Halo. Install stops at 84%: Re-posting to Ga

Hi
I'm trying to re-install Halo for my kids. Install from original disk stops
at 84% complete. Tells me that installation encountered an error with
C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/Maps/Sounds.map. Tells me either
there's not enough disk space or that the file is in use. Have plenty of disk
space tho.
Upon checking the folder I indeed find the file in use. No other programs
are running though. This program is part of the install. What could be
causing it to be in use?
Any other possible root causes of the problem?

Although I have not used the freeware "Unlocker" utility myself (never had
reason to use it), I have read that others have found it helpful:
