Trouble Opening Adobe Attachments

I have Adobe 6.0 installed on the computer. I have even tried re-installing
it. Whenever i open an adobe attachment in an e-mail, and now also, whenever
i open any adobe file from explorer, the file opens in microsoft word. I can
not seem to change the default. Why does this keep happening and how can i
modify this? When i right click the attachment in explorer, i can choose
"open with" and choose Adobe and be fine. But if i just dbl click the file,
it opens in Word. When i right click onthe attachment in outlook, i do not
even get the choice to "open with".

please help.....

what operating system do you have?

open up control panel, go to folder options. Go to the "File Types" tab.
Underneath of Registered file types you will see 2 lists, extensions and file
types. If you click on File Types it will alphabetize that list for you. I
have version 5.0 of the acrobat reader installed and I have 3 listed: Adobe
Acrobat Document and 2 Adobe Acrobat Forms Documents. Check to see what the
..PDF extension is set to open with. If it says Microsoft Word then theres
your problem...click on change after you select the .PDF extension and select
Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0. If it already says that, then I dont know what
else it could be.

Awesome! Thanks. That was the trouble. My Extension PDF was set up to open in
Word.
