trouble networking - access denied

I have four computers on a network using xp. The computers run through a
router (one wireless - the rest hardwired). All firewalls are off. Three of
the computers can share files, however one cannot. When I check to see
computers on the mshome workgroup they all show, but when I click the one
computer (which is the one that does not share) from any of the three
computers that can share files I receive an access denied - see administrator
message. All files (on the computer that will not share) are set to allow
sharing on the network. When viewing the network places page form the machine
that will not allow access I can see all the computers (including the one
that will not share).
I have tried the network wizard, set up home or small office network, use
simple file sharing in the view section under folder options etc. but no
luck. At one time all the machines were networked and shared. I have checked
settings etc.
There is obviously a setting (probably right in front of me!) on the one
computer that is disallowing access.
Any suggestions?

Mark;
Guest account does not have password on. I went to the help section you
noted and no luck. I even went back and removed all files that were being
shared, reset everything to xp default and went through the wizard setup etc.
I will try a few more things and if no luck will probably have to format and
reinstall all programs.
It has to be something starring me right in the face, but I have spent hours
on this and cannot get the other computers on my network to see the files on
this computer (continue to get access denied message see system administrator)
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for trying to help.

I have also been working through the same problem with no joy for days. I
have an XP Home PC acting as ICS server with a USB cable modem and two Win2K
PCs. I know the problem must be with XP because XP can see shared resources
on both 2K machines, and the 2K machines can see each others shares as well.
But both get the error message when trying to access the XP's shares.
Following instructions on other sites, I tried installing NetBeui and
allowing NetBios over TCP/IP (despite security concerns). I tried adding
proper DNS suffixes. I also tried removing print and file sharing and
reinstalling it, and using the Network Wizard, but all I succeeded in doing
was to deny the 2K machines access to the internet via ICS. So I set it all
back the way it was. It is very, very frustrating and I note that MS MVPs
seem to be short of any solution to this problem. Has ANYONE been able to
get this thing to work on XP Home? Note that I am using DHCP addressing on
the two Win2K machines, but they are all in the same subnet.
