Trouble logging on

When I turn on my computer, the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Welcome
Screen appears, then for a brief moment, my wallpaper (no Icons), then the
next screen is a screen I have never seen before: a Windows XP log on screen
with the choice of logging on as an owner or an administrator. (Usually
Windows will take me directly to my desktop). Either choice I make takes me
to the windows "logging off..saving settings" screen, then takes me back to
the previous screen of "owner" or "administrator" log on.....either choice
sends me right to the "logging off and saving settings" screen again....just
going in cirlcles!!!! Cannot get on to my desktop at all! All I get are
Microsoft Window logging on and logging off screens.
Please HELP!!!
